A little update

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

I don't have my Prague pictures on me right now, so I can't give the grand update at the moment. But, by special request, I'll tell you a little about what's going on these days.

Tomorrow night, I'm having a pre-birthday party with a bunch of my friends. Hopefully there will be cute pictures from that.

On Saturday, my parents arrive for a week-long visit. We'll be sight-seeing in Oslo, and then traveling to Bergen for a couple of days. And, God bless them, they will be taking some of my stuff back with them from Oslo so I don't have to mail it at exorbitant Norwegian postal rates.

The day my parents leave, I'm going to be flying to Trondheim to help celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Yes, his birthday is exactly one week after mine. Kind of cool, no? I guess I could write something here about how this experience will be culturally enlightening for me :) It probably will, but I'm more enthusiastic about doing the whole supportive girlfriend thing right now. On recommendation, I am taking the bus back from Trondheim in order to take in some more of that Norwegian scenery.

Once all this stuff is over, I have about 2 and a half weeks to write a good, long paper on Eddic poetry, in order to justify the money I've been given to live here for the past 8 months. Not sure if I'll do any sleeping during that time ...

After that, my friend Maureen arrives (yay!), and we proceed to hang and perhaps adventure together. I'm really looking forward to showing off my relatively small but enjoyable life and my relatively humble but wonderful group of friends to somebody from home.

So, there you have it! The Rest-of-my-time-in-Norway preview. Prague post next, I promise ...
