I was telling my dad the other day about how my friend Lindsey posted on her blog that she needed a friend with whom to watch trashy television the day after I planned to sheepishly invite her to do exactly that with me. "Isn't that how it goes these days," he said. "Millions of people connecting with millions of other people. In total isolation." Another friend famously says, "Too many MCs. Not enough mics." I don't fancy myself an MC. I crave response, which is why this is not the medium for me, really. And also why I'm very pleased with the discussion provoked by the last post. Three cheers for dialogue.

PS I also feel it's important that I confess now that I'm addicted to the stat counter on my blog. So if you haven't told me you read it ... I probably already know. Hopeless voyeur, I know! Hopeless.

I think the most fun about stat counters is seeing how people end up on your blog via search engines. And what they searched for.

    Yay for Project Runway tomorrow!

Well, Lindsey and I happen to be referring to Project Runway, in this case, as you can see. But I've had an addiction to Gilmore Girls for the past few years -- I think that's over, though, as it continues to suck. My friend Maureen got me into Law and Order, especially SVU, because, seriously, it is an anthropologist's dream. So bizarre.

Oh, I might add that NOONE's frequent checking of my blog is nearly as pathetic as the frequency with which I check my stat counter. So I can never judge.

i just check your blog a lot because i like to see what you've written. but now that i know you've got a tracker i'm going to check and reload the page a lot so you have lots of visitors. lots of visitors is such a warm, fuzzy feeling. but not as warm or fuzzy as POSTING visitors, naturally.

Yeah, posting visitors are swell :) But I have enjoyed tracking your travels through South America. You've internationalized my statcounter, Jeremy!
