Why aren't you back on the radar yet?

Yes. I am in Norway. That's the good news. The bad news is that I've discovered how spoiled I've been by the organization level of American universities, particularly by the resources I have access to when different schools are competing for my dollar. Since there are only 3 or 4 universities in Norway and all of them are free, basically the students here have no other option, and no one's working hard to keep them happy. All that to say, I have no internet access at the dorm and a phone on which I can only receive calls at the moment. Hopefully when I get my laptop back on Monday and can take advantage of wireless on campus, I will make a few more blips on here. For the moment, I'm running around like crazy trying to register for classes, establish legal residency and get the privileges that come with it (e.g., a bank account here and a student ID), and doing very silly things like finding out where the hooks that are supposed to be on the curtain rod in my dorm room went. Doesn't seem like things will slow down for a while, sorry. But you'll be the first to notice when they do.

I can't say I'm jealous at the moment ... but I'm sure I will be once you settle in and start doing fun, European things. Glad you're finally home! (What a weird thing to say, and yet, true. Home is where your lutefisk is.)
